Stayed at hotels in: Durango CO, Page AZ, and Grand Canyon Village as well as my friend's home in Tucson.

Summary

This was an atypical road trip. I flew into Denver where I met up with my friend who was heading home to Tucson, AZ from their own road trip that had started weeks before. The plan was to take a meandering route and stop at a bunch of national parks and monuments. We would stay in hotels each night. The whole trip was sparked by my friend winning the Wave lottery, so hiking The Wave was the trip's highlight. We also made a last minute reservation to stay at one of the lodges at Grand Canyon Village for a few nights.

I didn't take a lot of notes, and at first I could not even remember all of the places we stayed at or went to. However, there were so many incredible photos from incredible places. With these and my trail tracker tracks I was able to figure it all out. So this episode may be a little short on narrative.

Road trips really do cover a wide range of possibilities. I would never want to tell anyone that there is a right way to do road trips. You have to find what works best for you. The only goal is to have a little adventure and to see and do new things. Enjoy the photos and I hope they inspire you to visit some of these or other beautiful places!!!
